FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS KOMBUCHA?
Kombucha is a fermented beverage made with three main ingredients - water, sugar and tea. It is fermented with a SCOBY which is a bio mat that contains millions of live bacteria and yeasts. These bacteria and yeasts work in harmony to eat away all the sugar and tea that is in the liquid which then turns them into probiotic or good bacteria, acetic acids, B vitamins and yeasts. Once bottled, the bacteria keep eating and produce CO2 which is dissolved in the liquid making kombucha a naturally fizzy drink.
WHY SHOULD I DRINK KOMBUCHA?
Kombucha is a delicious alternative to commercially available fizzy drinks. It contains less sugar and our kombucha is flavoured with fresh, real fruits and herbs meaning there are no nasty chemicals within it. There is a lot of scope about the "health benefits" of kombucha with many people reporting positive changes to stomach problems and their general mood whilst drinking it. Its worth reading up about these points.
HOW DO I STORE IT AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Our kombucha has a shelf life of 6 months which is clearly dated on the side of the bottle. Due to the unpasteurised nature of the kombucha it should be stored in the fridge at all times.
